Fire Department to the Rescue!

A local landlord locked a mother cat in a utility room for 2 days with no food and water. She had kittens in a tall tree and she couldn’t get out to feed them. We fed her through the mail slot but the landlord doesn’t like neighborhood strays and was going to leave it locked in there over the weekend to wait for animal control. We called the police, who threatened to break the door down if he didn’t come out and release it. then we needed fire trucks, then BIGGER fire trucks. One kitten fell out of the tree and got a bloody nose but they both got checked by a local vet and are both ok. The kittens are between 3 and 4 weeks old right now and they are feisty. The mother is sweet but still exhausted from it all. They can all be handled and we are socializing them more every day. They are all starting to purr. The mom and her babies will all need homes when they reach eight weeks. If anyone can help provide a good home for this mother and / or kittens, please contact Jody at 954-557-3860.

Oscar is an 8 month old yorkie-shihtzu mix. He is a real sweetie....loves other dogs and cats. Playful and loves to be in your lap. Dear Animal House,

I have 2 cats that I need help finding homes for. One is a 5 year old Calico named Chloe – she is very loving and affectionate, loves to lounge around (especially in windows) and plays catch with small toys. Her son, Chase, is a 4 year old Tuxedo – he loves to cuddle, plays fetch, and will chase just about anything. They are both indoor cats, have been spayed/neutered, have microchip implants, and are in great health. They would do do well to stay together. However, if they need to be separated it would be best that they go to homes with no other pets.

I’m attaching a few pictures. I have tried for about 4 months now to find homes for them on my own and with the help of friends, but have been unable to do so. If you can be of any help, it would be greatly appreciated. I cannot take them with me when I move at the end of the year and I would prefer knowing that they went to a good home rather than to the county or Humane Society..

This is Bubbles the pug. She was a breeder parent at a puppy mill that went out of business. Although her life was rough there, she shows no signs of anxiety. She is in foster care and we think she is about 6yrs old, approximately 20lbs. Bubbles is playful and couldn't be sweeter. She loves the company of dogs and people and is friendly with cats. Here's a pic of the new foster dog Brandy. She is about 6yrs old. She was rescued by Abandoned Pet Rescue from a puppy mill. She was a breeder parent and spent her whole life in a cage breeding puppies. She just learned to walk on a leash and is in a home for the first time. She does not know how to be a "dog" yet but she's learning. Anyone interested in adopting her can call the shelter at 954 728-9010....spread the word!

His human mom passed away in March and his foster mom can no longer care for him

Mr. Honey is BIG guy – around 20 pounds. He’s an alpha-male, 8 or 9 years of age and is in perfect health (he just had a check up and all of his vaccines). Mr. Honey is a handsome ginger-colored American short hair. He was his human mom’s favorite and he is still grieving for her. He used to be an indoor/outdoor cat, but has preferred to stay indoors at his current home. He has his claws, but is well-mannered. He is a lap cat and likes to sleep on the bed at night. He is usually very mellow, however as an alpha cat, he does have his moments, especially after losing his human mom (he was on her lap as she passed away) and the home he called his for almost all of his life. Mr. Honey needs a human companion that will shower him with love and make him feel secure.
